The city
Monaco in brief.
Small enough to cross on foot, Monaco still fits a Grand Prix circuit, an opera house by Charles Garnier and a harbour full of yachts into roughly two square kilometres between the Rock and the French border.
The calendar opens on clay in April, when the Monte-Carlo Masters is played at a club just over the border in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The Grand Prix now falls in early June, summer concerts fill the Salle des Etoiles and the Opéra Garnier, and the Monaco Yacht Show lines Port Hercule in late September.

Grand Prix weekend
The Monaco Grand Prix covers 78 laps of a 3.337 kilometre street circuit in Monte Carlo, and since 2026 it has been held on the first full weekend of June.

Yacht show at Port Hercule
For four days in late September the Monaco Yacht Show berths around 120 superyachts in Port Hercule, with more than 500 exhibitors from shipyards to designers along the quays.

Opera at the Salle Garnier
The Opéra de Monte-Carlo performs in the Salle Garnier, the theatre Charles Garnier added to the Casino in 1879, a room of just over 500 seats.
