The city
Ibiza in brief.
Both of Ibiza's reputations are accurate: the club season, which opens in late April alongside the International Music Summit and ends with closing parties in the first half of October, and something far older, the walled upper town of Dalt Vila, on the UNESCO list since 1999.
Away from the clubs and the ramparts, ferries cross to Formentera in about half an hour, the beaches and salt pans of Ses Salines lie inside a natural park, and the hippy market at Las Dalias in Sant Carles trades every Saturday.

Pacha, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa and DC-10 open in late April and close in the first half of October, each on its own date, with weekly residencies in the months between.

Formentera by boat
Ferries from Ibiza port reach Formentera in about thirty minutes, crossing the Ses Salines natural park, which takes in the south of one island, the north of the other and the sea between.

Dalt Vila
Dalt Vila, the fortified upper town above the harbour, is listed by UNESCO together with the island's posidonia seagrass meadows, the Phoenician site of Sa Caleta and the Puig des Molins necropolis.
Wellness
Retreats in the north
The quieter north around Sant Joan de Labritja is known for yoga and wellness retreats, set among almond groves and olive trees well away from the clubs.
